Thanks for watching. Nothing in the piece says studying H5N1 is inherently bad. Fouchier's rationale is in there. But it IS alarming—and the video's focus—that the govt is quietly funding controversial research despite real safety concerns and doubts about the risk vs benefit.

The government is NOT quietly funding controversial research. You just like to think that because you aren't paying attention. The benefits far outweigh the risk and there are no safety concerns - the work is being done under proper containment.
