as expected, the court has inverted the 14th. an amendment written explicitly to directly ameliorate the conditions of race hierarchy becomes in conservative hands an amendment that says it’s illegal to try to directly ameliorate the conditions of race hierarchy

The Supreme Court has ruled on affirmative action. Per Amy Howe of @SCOTUSblog, "The court holds that Harvard and UNC's admissions programs violate the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment."

Chicagoans can't breath the air right now because it's been destroyed by pollution but you'll never hear it talked about like that in the media. A few windows get broken by young people and all the sudden the sky is falling.

I wonder why the 12th richest member of the house might not like unions
Richard Allen: 12th rich member of the house with an estimated net worth of 52,127,525 dollars in 2018

(1/2) Big labor will stop at nothing to coerce more American workers into unionization. I was proud to introduce the Truth in Employment Act which would protect small businesses and their employees from deceptive union harassment.

Since 2019: Inflation is up 18%. Autoworker pay is up 6%. Ford, GM, & Stellantis CEO pay is up 40%. The Big Three have made $250,000,000,000 in profits. 150,000 autoworkers' contracts expire on September 14th. Do the math.

Inflation is hammering working people. Bills go up; our paychecks don’t. Workers need COLA (Cost-of-Living Adjustments) now. #UAW

The only reason to get excited about a fascist coup against fascists is that it can hopefully weaken Russia's attacks on Ukraine by diverting combat units and not hindering Ukraine's offensive.

I honestly do not understand the excitement of anti-war Russians about Prigozhin’s March on Moscow. As if it was not him and his men who committed numerous crimes in Ukraine. Prigozhin is an avid supporter of mobilisation, he’s not anti-war or pro-democracy.

If only “my” coop followed the law and respected its workers’ rights rather than wasting members’ $ b/c Union busting is disgusting!!!

Today marks one year since we began bargaining for a first contract with @REI. Meanwhile, yesterday was the first time our bargaining committee sat down at the table with REI’s new union busting law firm, Morgan Lewis.
a photo of a long table lined with chairs; on one side sits a dozen workers and members of the REI Union SoHo bargaining team, facing a line of empty chairs as they are all waiting with frustrated looks on their faces for REI's bargaining team to arrive for negotiations. Overlaying the image in green is text reading "One Year of Bargaining with REI"
