Very true. and I are working on a story about administrators, coaches and faculty that make over $100,000. Basketball and Football coaches usually make more than presidents.

A8) Finding a central character is huge, like talking to a student who can no longer afford school after a tuition increase. Having someone who has been impacted by the process or policy tells the story in a unique way.

A9: What these people do. Fancy titles are confusing and weird. What do they do? What do you see every day that they had a hand in?

A9) Track records. Most presidents of big time unis have presidential experience elsewhere. Are there any parallels in decision making/policies? Also, who gets paid the most? If your school has a bit time sports department or hospital, it isn’t your president.

A9: Administration changes, especially if they are the president. Anytime there are policy changes, going to the administration for answers is also a good idea.

A8: The best way to get your readers interested in your story is through your lead. If you give them the most important information first, they will be more likely to read through the rest of your story.

A8) first off, we have to educate ourselves on how this stuff works and why. From there, we have to figure out what matters and think. Why should students care that this property is being sold? How are these renovations affecting you?
