    This is why I’m so proud to be a Michigan PhD. And this shit ain’t magic. It’s intentional. The result of really hard work for a really long time. And it’s why I continue to tell students of color that it’s the best place in the discipline to be trained.

    I had no idea that Tufte was a visionary of physical space as well as making data beautiful. Makes sense tho. There's no doubt I'd go see these sculptures this month if I could!

    You may know him for his pathbreaking work on data visualization, but is also a prolific sculptor. His sculpture garden, Hogpen Hill Farms, is open to the public for the remainder of October. Perfect fall day trip for folks in the Northeast.

    Few people did more EVER to advance the equality of women than Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The series of cases she argued in the 1970s transformed the constitutional basis for sex equality. There is literally no woman in this country whose life was not improved by RBG's life.
