“In the past, censorship worked by blocking the flow of information. In the 21st century, censorship works by flooding people with irrelevant information... In ancient times having power meant having access to data. Today having power means knowing what to ignore.” @harari_yuval

Unfortunately knowing what to ignore takes a high degree of skill and intelligence. That’s the difference between today and ancient times.

Exactly!! ...ignore certain tweets from people(who should know better) who advocate nonsense like raising taxes on corporations(businesses) and criticize local and state governments for creating incentives(with conditions) for corporations(businesses) to add jobs. lol

Yearly cleanses of your followings are important. Also asking yourself what channels of information you should consume to get you to where you want to go in the journey of life

Neither flood nor irrelevance is required. One can get useful information selectively censored on a regional basis simply by interlarding it with forbidden facts. E.g., mention Tiananmen Square to block Chinese, Armenian genocide to block Turkey, etc.

Ever since the library in Alexandria there has been "too much" information. This is the fantasy of the gatekeepers, believing they held control they never did.
