Any legislation to create some form of government oversight of platforms should be about an agency that establishes standards, benchmarks and transparency that the platforms agree to. This moots any constitutional issues around speech with consent of private companies

I made it absolutely clear that the government agency would establish and administer standards, benchmarks and transparency agreed to by the platforms. This is not the government imposing standards on an industry. Also, no speech has to be removed/taken down necessarily.

Not exactly the same as aviation industry but I imagine something similar. Agreed standards and benchmarks and mandated transparency that requires a regular cadence of reporting, which in turn is audited by government and third party experts. BIG fines for non compliance.
