i can imagine it sucks for trans women that cis women are such gatekeepers about womanhood. when we are not the ones who have to put in so much effort time and money into it

like basically she spends so much time thinking about or investing in her femininity (like literally, she had to financially invest in it!!!) that she feels like she is "more feminine" than me and my friend i can totally see that, you know? i get her POV entirely

i mean...she's a trans womani think she gets to have her own definition of femininity!! that definition may not apply to everyone. but don't "problematic" this it's her life it's her view of womanhood

as suicide seems to continue to plague the world with its dark shadow, i urge you all pay attention to what people are telling you without their words. its time to be empathic sensitive and compassionate. check on your “strong” friends rip kate spade & anthony bourdain

femininity IS effort! it has always been effort and performance. i think radfems are sold on this notion of feminine as "natural" when it is anything but

met this trans woman yesterday & she was telling me and my girl friend "i invest so much in my femininity. more than you two. you may not think about the exact shape of your face, but i had my jaw shaved to appear more womanly. if femininity is effort am i not the most feminine?"

anyway sorry to live tweet my facebook arguments but this gets me heated! i think these women are just angry at younger women who get sexual attention & then take it out on the women! instead of blaming the patriarchy that has made a woman's worth dependent on her looks + youth
