violating amendment x with loose interpretation helps avoid having to invoke article v, which no one wants to do because no party wants to be seen standing in opposition to the constitution.

Tenth Amendment- A clear example of the Social Contract basis for government that was at the core of the thinking of the founders.

How do you feel about "the people" (for our purposes the people here means the majority of the voting population) voting to demand laws at the federal level? Do you think that would be an acceptable exercise of the tenth, or would you just call that "oppression by the majority?"
