It's the guy thing. Our culture can't stand the idea that young men are sentient beings with legitimate interests that diverge from those of other demographic groups.

Do the counterfactual: if somebody used the same kind of language, analysed culture in the same way etc., but did so from a feminist perspective, would they be being mocked and vilified, or praised and lauded?
