Critics of my “enforced monogamy” comments in the NY Times: why do you think polygamy is illegal? Why do you think marriage is essentially a human universal, as described by Donald Brown? http://j.mp/2IzPnD2 pic.twitter.com/C1jGjIeD57

That actually seems more of a libertarian point of view to me. Nothing wrong with it. I could broadly define myself as both a conservative and a libertarian.
Its not conservative, its libertarian. Conservatives use it only when its suits them.
leave folks be ? you cant literally do that. some folks just walk over others without any hesitation and leaving folks to be : no tax (taxation is an answer to money distribution - enforced monogamy could be an answer for mating )
"monogamy enforced with organized violence" He said it's so in the West, not the whole world. I agree that it probably shouldn't be legally enforced. Again, I'm wary of the long term consequences of that, though.
The conservative idea is that lack of norms at all leads to social chaos which then tends to result in greater levels of authoritarianism in response to this chaos.
Couldn't agree more. And, never have I heard Dr. Peterson advocate any kind of forced conformity. I mean, the man rages effectively against groupthink more than anyone that I know. Suggestions are not enforced mandates.
But his suggestion literally used the word enforced? Maybe you’re giving him too big of a benefit of doubt here
