Is there actual evidence of such preference from studies?
TBH I am yet to encounter a male who would show a strong preference for open office, who would be actually one of the people WORKING in the open plan office. The entities fond of that shit are usually entities who have personal offices for themselves
Yes, that's basically the reasoning.
This is so interesting I just mentioned this to the women in the space/office next to mine. I said I could never work over there because there's absolutely no privacy. I would HATE it. I said when they do the remodel they should give you cubicles and they all agreed.
I actually have the opposite of clausterphobia, I guess. It doesn't kick in outdoors or indoor rec areas, thank ___. But indoors, if an office space is too large, I get really uncomfortable. One of my nightmares is using a toilet in an open room the size of a basketball court.
Im reading this in an open office space rn as I take a break from finally getting work done now that everyone has left. I cannot wait to leave this hellscape.
Equally, doesn't that mean there would be a negative effect on male employees if they were closed in a way that suited more women?
