I wonder how much of people's preference for "optimists" is really just a preference for people who are cheerful, motivated, and good at looking for solutions to problems (as opposed to people who systematically overestimate the likelihood of favorable outcomes)

I’ve been wondering where high vs low energy fits into the big 5. it really seems to effectively separate different people I know and have clear effects on achievement but it’s not clearly correlated with any of the big 5
