In fairness, Yglesias is an editor and columnist, not a journalist. Vox is not a mainstream publication, and explanatory journalism is a cute way to spell propaganda. It is difficult to wow-just-wow that which is predictable.

I think it was more to do with the specific cases in point, and specifically the MSNBC host who behaved in a grotesquely unethical manner. He should be fired immediately. but probably won't be, bc he helps sell the network.
