I hear people are trying to discredit the Intellectual Dark Web concept by pointing out that we're not victims. No s***! I'm GRATEFUL to the mainstream media for not signing us. We've been able to build enormous audiences and create successful programming out here.

The danger comes when MSM realizes it can integrate, co-opt, exploit, and monetize lighter versions of IDW, to gain more street cred, youth appeal, edginess, and (token) viewpoint diversity. Consumerist infotainment is omnivorous and unprincipled. Expect a 'CNN Dark' channel soon

Why is it a dangerous/bad thing? As far as I can see, if a mainstream media channel adds to viewpoint diversity or atleast some flavour of IDW it's a step to the right direction (even though it might be insufficient).

Indeed, it might be OK to mainstream some IDW ideas. IMHO the danger is the MSM creates a pseudo-IDW that gives the look and feel of a heterodox viewpoint without challenging any of its real ideological taboos.
