Not sure if your point was serious or cynical? Does waking up and feeling gratitude that you did not live in a pre industrial revolution era make people genuinely happier? Sorry, I don’t feel it.
My point was serious. I think gratitude to the ancestral past is important. There's a fair amount of research that 'gratitude exercises' make people happier. Don't know if that's true for historical gratitude.

If you seek to honor an 'ancestral past', why not choose to thank mother nature instead? Would fit in a necessary paradigm shift from old industrial world thinking towards a more sustainable one. Chances are that our industrial revolution may actually lead to our demise.
