I have always wondered how toxic masculinity can be a thing when gender is a social construct. Growing up, children spend more time in the company of women (their mothers, teachers who are predominantly female). What, then, gives rises to this toxicity? R these women causing it?

I hate this phrase and it certainly illustrates how demonized being male has become but since the people saying it are usually friends and loved ones I do take them seriously and hopefully demonstrate enough patience and respect to inspire it.
