Most vegans I know are rational, ethical people, and they find this ice cream thing really dumb and embarrassing. As with all passionate groups, the strongest virtue-signalers make the most noise and come across as the most obnoxious.

Nothing rational in not eating animal products. Veganism is more like an eating disorder wrapped in a very dubious philosophy.
