This is a golden opportunity for conservatives to show that we actually value free speech even when the speaker's opinions are abominable. If we don't, we're no better than SJWs. Respect #1A even when it pains us. That's the moral high ground.

Not a problem at all. Naturally any thinking person is like this. But calling yourself a conservative with this lifestyle is stretching the definition of conservativism to the extreme. As a rhetoric move not at all different from what the post-modernists are constantly doing.
By academic standards, I'm an extreme conservative. By conservative standards, I'm not. Oh well. Guess we'll just have to live with that.

In my experience, when it comes to academia, they don't go to burning man, have polyamourous relationships or support psychedelics and free speech openly. Where can I find an academia where _conservatives_ are like this? I will join immediately! :) Can't wait to meet the liberals

Very good point. You get lots of love from conservatives like me not because we think you agree with many of our policy positions, but simply because we find it refreshing to discover academics not in the hard sciences who seem at least minimally rational!
