I support her right to say what she said, but I also support the right of the university to fire her for what she said. Every action has a reaction and consequence. That’s the difference between wanting speech censored and wanting accountability for actions.
A public university is bound by #1A and absolutely cannot fire a professor for expressing an opinion in public. The constitutional law is crystal clear on this point.

Not true. They are still a private business and thus can create business practices that their employees should follow. How is this any different than professors being fired for consensual sexual relationships with students outside of the university. It’s not.
A public university is definitely NOT a private business. It is a government employer. The government can't fire you for speech if it is 1: On a matter of public concern 2: unrelated to your work and 3: not unduly disruptive. Private employers can fire at will.

Universities are not required to tolerate violence or violent outbursts. Threats are not protected language and are subject to many other actions or responses to protect the student body and in this case, two Presidents.
