Wm James was very evolutionary, and holds up well. Jung I don't know very well; hard to say. Freud nicely highlighted sex as a central issue, but never really understood sexual selection, and hasn't held up well.

ugh yes. my understanding of psychology never felt substantial until i started learning about the evolutionary aspect. prior to that a lot of things just felt like fancy hypotheses without enough convincing evidence to back it
