I've never seen an academic think even two steps ahead about their political challenges within a university. We just don't cultivate these skills. I don't know why.
The best part of watching @SHO_Billions is imagining how faculty meetings would go if academics had the same skill with power plays, political machinations, veiled threats, and verbal fireworks that its characters do.
