Uncritical parroting of official narratives is all too common. Journalists should both insist on supporting evidence and highlight its absence. There’s some distance between that refinement and more regular mainstream allusions to possible false flags.

I actually agree with that, but it's also exhausting how so many others always consider false flag explanations.

To consider something and to vocalize it are separate issues for good reason.

The media do consider the false flag hypothesis! . . . . 15-20 years after the event.

This is an interesting topic. Some sources would say that one of the first FF operations happened when Nero burned Rome to blame it on Christians.
