I cannot for the life of me understand those who are more concerned about "hate speech" than they are the loss or limitation of free speech.
Zuckerberg testified he's 'optimistic' that in 5-10 years, Facebook will have AI tools to automatically censor 'hate speech'. But he couldn't define 'hate speech', beyond whatever makes some people feel 'unsafe'. The problem of selective enforcement is horrifying.pic.twitter.com/i0Nc3RqgAV

I would guess because it doesn't require thought. "Hate speech" is bad. Banning bad things is good. People don't get as far as a questioning how what qualifies as hate speech or who is setting the criteria.
