Are there any social, sexual, or political controversies where you're so evenly split in your sympathies that you feel genuine moral uncertainty about which side to take? (I feel like this about most public controversies, BTW.)

I’m evenly split between reacting with “really?!” to this tweet and wondering if your Twitter was hacked.

Honey, you know there are _so_ many things I don't say on Twitter, because I don't have a clear and settled position on them. :)

Yep. I'm pretty torn on many issues. I'm a liberal at heart. I want people to be free to chart their own course. Yet I have some respect for Chesterton's Fence, and feel we should be cautious in changing things that have provided social stability for millennia.

I had to look it up, but I wholly agree with the principal behind Chesterson's Fence; which is largely motivated by the fear of unintended consequences. One does not causally make changes to complicated things they do not understand well.

Many things. Almost everything. I find myself feeling like an imposter b/c everyone seems so certain about their position.

It’s an illusion! And I think sometimes the wisest people are the least certain.

Thankfully the obligation to ‘have an opinion’ is just an illusion (I’m bad at resisting it, until I’m on the fence)

Mostly controversies that are at the intersection of finance/economics and social justice. Ex: Govt programs to assist the poor.
