Would be interesting to see typed material compared with dictated. Dictation software is good enough now to get almost perfect accuracy.
Psychologist Hans Eysenck wrote over 80 books, almost entirely by dictating them onto a tape recorder, with almost no editing.

Churchill had an entire team of typists working on rotation, swapping when they became fatigued. The British war effort was substantially directed by one slightly drunk man strolling up and down, dictating memos.
