Should public universities be required to publish data about the % of faculty who are liberal vs. centrist vs. conservative, so parents can make informed choices about whether their kids will get a narrow indoctrination or a broad education?

Couldn’t we make a fair argument that political ideology will mostly only affect soft sciences and liberal arts? I mean, I don’t care what your politics are if you’re teaching calculus, chemistry, physics, computer programming, engineering, etc.

Yes, but there's also the issue of whether faculty as a whole will support viewpoint diversity in the fields where it matters most.
