Should public universities be required to publish data about the % of faculty who are liberal vs. centrist vs. conservative, so parents can make informed choices about whether their kids will get a narrow indoctrination or a broad education?

I don’t think it will work because I don’t think most people (academia included) have a huge chasm between the politics they espouse and the politics they work towards.

Even if voluntary (arguably, it would be obligated voluntary), doesn't this sort of thing encourage movement to the wings? The university with more left will attract more left etc.

What would prevent an activist reaction that would have them simply self-report to the right of their actual leanings? I say this because unlike anonymous surveys, presumably there would be some actual effect of this data being out there.
