Doesn’t that lead to defining the ‘mentally ill’ as those who you don’t agree with ideologically?
Every new ethical, political, and religious movement attracts a disproportionate share of people with mental illnesses. That doesn't mean the movement's ideas or values are invalid; it just means 'normal' people find it strange at first and avoid it. #selectioneffects

Do you think that the % of mentally ill to mentally sound people is in any way proportionate to the validity of the ideas presented? Why/why not?

Or are unstable people just attracted to new—and hence, unstable—movements, whether the ideas behind them are right or not? Or is there some other mechanism at work?
