Many of us would like the option of living another millennium or two. It would give us a lot more 'skin in the game' in preserving our civilizations....
7,000 Americans die per day, mostly from senescence. If we really want to save lives, we would invest massively in (1) regenerative medicine and (2) minimizing existential risk. Instead, we get sensationalism, signaling, and scope-insensitivity. Bad priorities will kill millions.
