I think 'emotional intelligence' is mostly general intelligence plus some of the Big Five, like agreeableness, conscientiousness, and emotional stability.
Howard Gardner's 'Multiple Intelligences' theory is a pseudo-scientific fraud that's taken over public education. There's no evidence for it, and massive evidence against it (i.e. for the hierarchical g factor). Gardner visited my school once, and my school kind of had the same approach to academics this way too It was a good school, but I wouldn't say people joined it because it was academically a superior place

Evidence doesnt exist. There is nothing evident. Evidence is a pseudoscientific concept. What matters is the utility of things not the theoretical speculation.

Possibly Geoffrey - but the point is that intelligence (and its application) is not one-dimensional. Whether there is one general intelligence or multiple intelligences, we shouldn't let the myth of 'specialisation' dictate that we're only capable of one thing. That's true fraud.
