Surprisingly high numbers. It usually only takes three 90-minute lunches to promote a departmental colleague to 'casual friend' status, IMHO.

Yeah, but you’d need to know your colleagues for at least 15 years before you’d consider going for lunch with them (or is that just the UK...?)

I think you have to invite them to lunch within the first month you're in a new department, or you have to wait the 15 years ....
