Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips asked young people who went to the March For Our Lives rally what an ‘assault weapon’ is... they had absolutely no idea. This video shows how uninformed anti-gunners are.pic.twitter.com/BZz9K9TjQ7

But the back and forth about what "AR" means (Armalite) or whether or not an "assault rifle" exists is nothing more than a distraction. These children aren't writing the policy, the legislators are. They're just asking for consideration. Shouldn't we consider, then?

I would appreciate a debate about WHY nearly every adult over the age of 17 should have the ability to acquire a rifle capable of sending 30 or more high velocity rounds down range in under 30 seconds. That, as I understand it, is the meat and potatoes of the argument.

Respectfully, it absolutely is a semantic argument. They could very easily define what they're talking about by describing what it is: a weapon manufactured for the purpose of killing people. The specifics aren't the relevant issue, here. Access to high powered high cap guns is.
