We decreased violent crime. Good. Now let's do something else to decrease it further. Is that a terrible idea?

Can you propose 'doing something' that doesn't violate fundamental constitutional rights?

Your position violates the Declaration of Independence & our right to life. #1 There's nothing sacred about the Const. We've altered it many times. #2 This is an issue of conflicting rights. Life vs 2A. SCOTUS has often had to rule on competing rights. At least couch it honestly.

The point of
#2A is to protect citizens lives against tyranny. Tyrants always confiscate guns. Net result is often genocide.#2A is pro-life, not anti-life.8 replies 2 retweets 12 likes -

It isn't possible to make that point seriously in the 21st century. The idea that a bunch of suburban bro-dads are gonna get together and defeat the U.S. military is so laughably ridiculous. It's beneath you to even raise it as an argument.

That's a silly argument. The Viet Cong had an existing standing army to complement it's civilian guerrillas and had massive aid from China and the Soviets. That is a far cry from any US bro-dad sci-fi uprising scenario.

The US government could drop a drone missile right on top of any militia they wanted to and wipe them out of it really came down to that. It isn't an argument that is worth taking seriously.

You mean the drones piloted from that lightly guarded facility outside Las Vegas, by drone pilots sworn to uphold the Constitution and to disobey unlawful orders? OK.

I'm not sure how any of this negates the fact that the US military would stop any armed militia if it came to that. The 2A tyranny argument is nonsense at this point in time. How could it not be?

Get back to me if the mighty US military ever subdues those Afghan hill tribes with their silly small arms.

Again, this isn’t a serious argument. The US, with the will, could defeat any force on Earth. We have limited authority, latitude, & political will in Afghanistan. We could turn it into a parking lot, yet CHOOSE not to. We aren’t being defeated.
