Such a petty tweet. I want to fairly consider your point of view on many topics but you’re not doing yourself many favours with this one.

Why petty? You don't think citizens should understand something before they try to ban it? How do they even know what they're banning if they're ignorant about it? Please clarify.

It’s petty because you’re strawmanning the main argument behind the protest - the absurd ease with which any loon can get their hands on mass-causality causing assault weapons. And see @galenhall ‘s tweet for an answer to your legislative question.

I obviously agree with your *general* point that people should try to understand something before they push for legislative change. But you also seem to be conveniently overlooking that most people simply want tighter assault weapon laws, not to ban all guns.
