I love you Mike but this is not even remotely reasonable, the term "the 1%" refers the small portion of the population that controls the world's wealth. As in: The top 1% have more money than the bottom 99%. That's literally how the term came to be. Steven is not one of those.
If you make over $32k/year, you're globally in the 1%. So, yes, the Steven guy is.

Capt Atheist might be thinking of wealth and not income. Making $32k might be in the top 1% of income earners but still a far cry from the the wealthiest, no? Maybe I’m wrong but think there’s a difference between income and net worth
