There is a slight problem when th author puts fascists on th right when the very definition of the fascist movement was based on a powerful state.

Are they? I usually see them placed on the right, opposite hardcore communists. I'm fine with that as shorthand, even though reality rarely fits into our neat and tidy spectrums.
