I had a stimulating discussion yesterday with a personality researcher I know about how complex the ethics are for this issue. Reminds me of how thorny the use of stem cells was in the 90’s for bioethicists.

Not necessarily, as the research design including A/B testing might be up for approval by an IRB... more interesting to me is thinking about data sovereignty and the use of blockchain-like tools to grant and revoke permissions around personal data. This is a very complex arena.
