Blaming the Left exclusively is pretty myopic. Seldom a week goes by where a right-wing commentator fails to describe the modern world as a socialist hell-scape of hedonistic excess. If you believe in the "end times" you go looking for faith-promoting signs of the end.
The Left utterly dominates education and media, so if people aren't aware of recent historical trends that have lifted billions out of poverty, disease, and suffering, isn't it the Left's fault?

I tend to believe in some amount of personal responsibility. But leaving that aside, are you saying the right-wing media pushes the narrative that things are getting better? On education, I grew up in a farm town. The education I got wasn't Leftist but it wasn't optimistic either
