Why don't we know this? Why isn't this news? Because it IS news. And it's good news. And it's actually happening, and has been accelerating rapidly for twenty years.https://twitter.com/humanprogress/status/975761334548750337 …

Blaming the Left exclusively is pretty myopic. Seldom a week goes by where a right-wing commentator fails to describe the modern world as a socialist hell-scape of hedonistic excess. If you believe in the "end times" you go looking for faith-promoting signs of the end.

The Left utterly dominates education and media, so if people aren't aware of recent historical trends that have lifted billions out of poverty, disease, and suffering, isn't it the Left's fault?

There will always be a bottom percentage. It will not be the same people and the quality of the percentage will change, but there is always a bottom and a top

It's not the left that's most guilty of this. The right spread anti vax, climate denying, anti gay, anti "globalism," anti evolution theories and many more. The left talks of income inequality, which really is important, but I've never heard them discount progress while doing so.

It'd be great if those who R most wary of calls 4 equality could acknowledge where humans R equal: We all have a right 2 benefit from natural wealth. Air &water belongs 2 all. Industries should compensate the ppl when pollution is put or resources depleted http://gaiabrain.blogspot.com/2011/06/golden-rule-and-public-property-rights.html …pic.twitter.com/2g3eoaQY5o

Progressive relativism means absolute gains of incredible magnitude are dismissed. Mass starvation and death are preferable to the existence of wealthy individuals.

Psychologically, it probably feels better to be a bigger fish in a poorer, more deadly pond without modern technology than a smaller fish in a richer, healthier pond with iPhones.

I dunno, I would say health disparities are kinda worrying, especially when we start getting life extending technology

May be true but at the expense of the planet and other species in it. Sixth extinction is totally human driven. Soon we’ll start to pay the price! Plus, “the left” has not claimed that. Could name several on “the left” Bernie, Warren, Harris (yes, Sam), who don’t think like that!
