If you refuse to hear the strongest arguments against your position, you can't know whether your position is correct. Even worse, you can't even know the true nature, origins, and implications of your position.

I've noticed that you tweet a lot of stuff about freedom of speech on college campuses. I took your tweet to be an argument for why things like safe-spaces are not productive. I'm saying that sometimes its okay to "refuse to hear the strongest arguments against your position."

The best way to get exposed to counter-arguments is probably to read them at home, rather than hear them in public. Feels safer, and allows more dispassionate reasoning.
