Jeffrey Sachs will say that this is just anecdotal evidence. When you look at how many colleges there are and how many speakers, this sort of thing doesn't happen enough to get worked up about. That's going to be the response.
Funny how that's probably not his reaction to school shootings, which are also very rare relative to number of schools.

@primalpoly! How do you not see that your reactions to these rare illiberal incidences are equally guilty of generalizing to alarmist conclusions from singular events? Both examples of the fallacy of converse accident. -
The difference is I work in academia where I see the ideological bias and censorship play out every day. The deplatformings that get coverage are just the tip of a monumental chilling effect.
