      It could be the case if left vs right was about which is objectively the most efficient/utilitarian set of policies. But it’s about personal values and moral norms.

      An author of a book I read long ago (don't recall who) suggested that projecting motives onto another is "mind rape", as you are not in their mind. How can one be sure that one isn't promiscuously using the term virtue signaling?
