"Hey hey, ho ho, western civilization has got to go" is a despicable chant that was heard around colleges yesterday. Do people actually learn anything in college?
We can be 80% grateful to our ancestors, but still think that slavery, the Versailles Treaty, and Brutalist architecture were evil. Informed discernment is key.

Individuals can be grateful to their ancestors if they want. Making it into a moralistic obligation is questionable and a basis for judgment if people do not do so would require something more than populist tweets.
