"Hey hey, ho ho, western civilization has got to go" is a despicable chant that was heard around colleges yesterday. Do people actually learn anything in college?

Don’t you think that’s a little dramatic? Human history is mostly tragic, and dominated by bad actors. Western civilization is no exception. College is a time to test more radical ideas, they will certainly change tune in the years to come. Chill TF out
Western Civilization in the last three centuries has been an awesome success story, as 'Enlightenment Now' by @sapinker shows. Students should understand how lucky they are to inherit its insights and values.

That’s fair, they certainly should reflect all western civilization has afforded them. And I agree on net western civ has been a success, but its history (and virtually of humanity’s history) is rife with some very cruel injustices

They’re college students, and they’re testing out radical ideas. This has been the case since the inception of these institutions. The only difference is now every instance of misguided radical behavior makes national news
