'We don't have to give up meat, dairy, or eggs to end animal farming'.
Great TEDx talk by @jacyreese on how to enjoy the taste & nutrition of 'clean meat' from real cow/pig/chicken DNA, without all the animal suffering. @SentienceInst https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBmbVphZKYc …

Why would anyone give up dairy or eggs? I can see the implications of not killing animals for food, but not raising them for eggs or milk? All those chickens and cows would then simply die out as a species, because without human consumption, they have no reason to exist at all.

Dairy imposes suffering on milk cows, and egg-laying imposes suffering on layer hens. Nobody laments that we have far fewer work horses now than a century ago. If factory-farmed animals have lives of net suffering, their resources are better spend on wild animals.
