There's a culture war being pushed, but on campuses I'm less sure that there is one ongoing. Vast majority of students still go to class, study and party (order varies). Most clubs are apolitical, major, sports or social aspect related
Even the most intense culture wars rarely involve more than 10% of people. People still read, cook, and do child care during wartime.

All true but the provocation on campuses seems promulgated mostly by outside actors of bellicose intent, and given oxygen mostly by outside interests who have political agendas related to either defunding or weakening the global primacy of US universities
