There's a culture war being pushed, but on campuses I'm less sure that there is one ongoing. Vast majority of students still go to class, study and party (order varies). Most clubs are apolitical, major, sports or social aspect related

Even the most intense culture wars rarely involve more than 10% of people. People still read, cook, and do child care during wartime.

You're right about the violence: right-wing radicals have already murdered people. So why is the NYT wasting so much space on the non-problem of college students peacefully protesting or criticizing things as college students have done since the dawn of time?

There's a higher rate of gun violence in the US than elsewhere, but it's not very related to the ongoing Culture War. My concern is that the Culture War turns much hotter before it's resolved peacefully.
