Playing this out and ignoring ‘illegal’ ownership .. what would happen if the government started a process to let you hand in rifles during the transition period (for money) , after which , they would come and ask registered owners for them. ? 1/2
About 300 million guns in the US. Pay owners a fair rate of $1000 each to 'turn them in'. Where do you get $300 billion for this buyback?

Genuine ques -if you could click a magic button..and all rifles in the US were magically gone (incl illegally owned) & bank accts were magically reimbursed (together with a law banning them / or requiring a proper reason / check) would you press the button for a safer US?
