What should we do about 'assault rifles'? American deaths in 2016 (most recent good data I could find): Heart disease: 633,842 Medical errors: c. 250,000 Motor vehicle crashes: 37,461 Work accidents: 5,190 Drowning: c. 3,500 Murdered by knife: 1,604 Murdered by rifle: 374

But those numbers don't justify doing nothing about this. We can focus on improving road safety, reducing heart disease AND common sense gun reform. Because those deaths are still important. It is possible to do more than one thing at a time.

Define “common sense gun reform,” in the context of “shall not be infringed.”

Destroying and suspending Constitutional rights out of fear has not worked out well for our country. Look at all the good was done when we locked up the shifty Japanese, NSA spyed on everyone everywhere and spied on that dirty MLK Jr. Movements matter more than rights.

If didn't see the "if" in your original tweet. I agree people freak out about mass shootings and terrorist attacks (and shark attacks!) which actually represent a negligible number of deaths.
