I agree that lives lost are a big deal, probably the biggest and it should play a big role in priorities. Just don't forget the fears and doubts of our children and young adults. Being a father of two gives me some perspective.

Also a concerned parent. I just resent the media stoking fears in kids about extremely rare events, while giving so little attention to the things vastly more likely to kill them, like driving while texting, or leaving depression untreated.

If you could reduce or eliminate something because of policy, this comparison is pointless. More people die of hunger world wide everyday than any of these, but that doesn’t mean we have to abandon all projects to focus on one.
